Hunting Brook featured on BBC Gardeners World
We're delighted to see Hunting Brook, one of our members gardens, featured on BBC's Gardeners' World.
Warblebank is a secluded hillside Wicklow country garden, situated on the outskirts of Newtownmountkennedy, Co.Wicklow. Warblebank has been in continuous cultivation by many generations of gardeners but by the present owners since 1900
The house sits amid two distinct areas.
The east facing back garden is dominated by Bramley apple trees and Leptospermums. Rose pergolas of 'Pauls Himalayan Musk', 'Rambling Rector' and 'Saunder's White Climber' form a back drop to the well stocked herbaceous perennial borders with many interesting and some unusual varieties; aconitums, dephiniums, phlox, campanulas, salvias, border geraniums, iberis and penstemons to name a few
In contrast the front garden, sloping lawns with a view to the Wicklow hills is sheltered by mature woodland and flowering shrubs creates a quiet haven for wild life. Some of the trees and shrubs are Rhodendron, Podacarpus salignus, Nothafagus 'Dombeii', Cornus contraversus and Osmanthus
