Kilmokea Gardens are beautifully laid out around a pretty Georgian house overlooking the River Barrow.

Topiary, lawns, herbaceous and mixed plantings combine with architectural features and ornaments to provide an enchanting series of enclosures. A Large water garden extends into woodland planted with rare and tender trees and shrubs. The large Organic fruit and vegetable garden grows amidst a box hedge maze producing fare for the big house where B&B guests enjoy Organic pleasures.

The wall garden is a place of peace and reflection with rose gardens, pools and herbaceous planting. Love seats are placed around every corner waiting to provide comfort for moments of contemplation.

Spring water cascades in a series of waterfalls through the woodland garden flowing past features  which depict the history of Kilmokea, the Viking Settlement & Norman Motte. WoodenSmaug the tree dragon before entering ‘The Myrtle wood’ story where woodland creatures live in lanterns in the trees waiting to meet garden visitors.

There is a depth of richness in the unspoilt nature of these gardens where the Tree Fairy Village attracts fairy hunters who all adore the ever increasing avenues of fairy homes in the beautiful ancient trees growing in the woodland.

A 29ft pine tree at Kilmokea gardens in Campile has been hailed the champion tree of Ireland.

Aubrey Fennell of The Tree Council of Ireland and author of Heritage Trees of Ireland gave Kilmokea Gardens the title of 'Champion of Ireland' when he visited Kilmokea this week.

Kilmokea's Wollemi pine, planted in 2007 to celebrate the birth of Mark and Emma's three boys has been officially measured at 8.63 meters (29ft).

Mark and Emma are incredibly excited as they have nurtured and watched it grow through two of the harshed winters in 2012 and 2013 and to watch it grow and mature is wonderful.

The Wollemi Pine is one of the world's oldest and rarest trees.

We are of course very happy to have very happy guests!

The brand new car park was packed for our #chapterhousetheatre production of #treasureisland in the walled garden Kilmokea Country Manor & Gardens. Once again this stupendous band of actors enthralled the audience on 31st July, the last day of the #wexfordgardentrail festival. In the evening sun guests picnicked on the lawn and soaked in this outdoor theatre entertainment.

You are so welcome Jenni. It was a pleasure to look after you throughout your celebrations.
