Airfield Estate has fantastic ornamental gardens for you to wander through and take in the romance and elegance of the walled garden and woodland charm of the tea garden.

Keep an eye out for the ornamental farmstead plants of artichoke, oregano and lavender in the sunken garden at the entrance to the estate.

The Greenhouse Garden is the perfect resting point to stop to sit in the garden and look closer at the planting before exploring the New Food Gardens where we share our passion and commitment to the production and consumption of local, seasonal home grown food.

This garden supplies fresh fruit and vegetables for the Overends Restaurant and our boundary hedges provide plenty of food and shelter for birds and wildlife as well.

Opening Hours

Sept - June : Mon - Sun 9.30 - 5 p.m
July Aug : Mon - Sun 9.30 - 6 pm

Last admission 1 hour before closing.

🌟🌟🌟 After a couple of years of hard grafting and waste minimisation, Overends Kitchen has been awarded the top grade by the Food Made Good sustainable restaurant association!

To achieve this rating, the team worked extremely hard to achieve good marks on 10 specific items across the areas of sourcing, society & environment.

We're delighted to see this achievement as we continue on our journey towards less waste and an overall more sustainable way of being. 💚

This is what to approximately 250,000 beetroot seeds looks like!!

The garden team here at Airfield Estate grew 'Touchstone Gold' for seed after consultation on taste with Overends Kitchen.

Through the process, there were many obstacles including foxes and aphids however the team managed to harvested over 4.5kg of seeds last week. Keep an eye on next year's crop of beetroot in the gardens and then on the kitchen counter!

'Tis the season for lots of wonderful veg! We love this time of year with an abundance of produce being harvested in the Airfield gardens and carried up to Overends Kitchen.

Our culinary team then create a collection of seasonal dishes for breakfast, lunch & brunch 7 days a week!

This is why we've chosen the end of August for the upcoming More Veg Masterclass with Luke Matthews.

Join him for a morning workshop on the 24th of August to learn all about bringing more vegetables into your diet. How to shop for the best local, seasonal and sustainable vegetables. Luke will showcase a selection of dishes to inspire you this Autumn.
