To generate development and growth of the garden experience sector by:
- being the national platform through which garden organizations and organizers come together with common goals;
- developing programs, resources and services;
- promoting the role and benefits of Ireland gardens and gardening activities as integral components of our communities and their tourism offering;
- fostering increased visitation to gardens and participation in gardening activities.
If you're involved in managing or organizing an Irish Garden Experience - be it a public or botanical garden; garden/floral-focused event, festival, network or trail; destination garden centre; garden club, horticultural society or organization; or a tourism or associated industry - we invite you to become a member of the Gardens of Ireland Trust.

Goals
- To contribute to the development and celebration of the Island of Ireland’s Garden Culture
- To promote the 'triple bottom line' (social, economic and environmental) impact of garden experiences and gardening in communities across the Island of Ireland.
- To enrich the Island of Ireland’s tourism offering with the many and varied Garden Experiences within the provinces and territories
- To work with the Island of Ireland’s horticultural industry to stimulate garden experience development and grow the gardening clientel
- To be the vehicle through which we tell the Island of Ireland garden-related stories and share them with pride with the people of the Island of Ireland and visitors from all over the world
- To facilitate collaboration and cooperation between garden experience organizers
- To facilitate collaboration and cooperation between local, provincial and national garden organizations.
- To be the voice of gardens vis-à-vis other related sectors or industries interested in developing and promoting the Island of Ireland Garden Experiences e.g. education, art, culture, culinary, heritage, tourism, etc.
- To foster, develop, monitor and share research related to gardens and gardening development and trend
- To evaluate and measure development and performance on an ongoing basis to ensure continued growth and success of the sector
- To operate with integrity in a professional business manner.
